Headmaster's Message

Welcome to the MGIS website!

In choosing a school for your child many factors have to be taken into account. For me it is vitally important that we educate the whole child and provide meaningful experiences in all areas from Maths to Music and from Swimming to Science. I believe that during the Primary stage children should be taught from where they are in terms of their academic development. The curriculum being made to fit the child and not making the child fit the curriculum. At MGIS it is not a case of one size fits all!

During the High School years it is important that there is pace and rigour in the curriculum and that the students are known and understood as individuals. I am pleased to say that this is central to our approach at MGIS. Our small school setting, plus an ethos which allows students to be themselves within a firm but fair disciplinary system, works for us.  Our High school students are excellent role models for our younger children and the family atmosphere we have encourages and sustains this.

Our classes are small, averaging 10 students per class and this promotes a high level of interaction between teachers and students at all levels. Individual needs are more easily met and there is an opportunity for everyone to feel valued and part of the school. As well as academic pursuits, drama, music , art and sports feature very strongly as we believe that children have multiple ways of expressing their talents and abilities.

But don’t just take my word for it. Please come along and visit us and see for yourself. Why not take up our offer of a free placement in school for a day for your child. From experience we know that even after just one day students enjoy the experience so much that they want to come back again and again!
