1. Where is the school located?

Mahatma Gandhi International School (MGIS) is located at the South Superhighway close to Merville Park. It is easily accessible from Makati and all the Villages in Parañaque and Pasay Cities.

 

2. What is the Fee Structure?

MGIS is a non-profit organization. Our aim is to make International Education available at an affordable fee so that more children in the society can benefit from it. Our fees are very low compared to other International schools.

 

3. What curriculum does the School follow?

Our school is a candidate for IB PYP and MYP. It adheres to the International IB Methodology of Inquiry based learning. The IB is the most widely accepted programme recognized by Universities all over the world. For details refer to the PYP and MYP programmes found at www.ibo.org

 

4. What Extra-Curricular Activities Does the school offer?

Extra-curricular activities are an important part of the curriculum. All the children are encouraged to participate in the various activities that help to develop their confidence and enhance their personalities. Cultural activities like dance, music and drama are encouraged and sports activities like taekwondo , soccer, and  swimming . Also we offer academic activities like spelling bees and debates which are organized throughout the year.

 

5. Does the School have qualified personnel?

The Head of the School is a highly qualified International educator with more than three decades of varied experience in the academic field. He has led schools in England, Italy and the Philippines. The faculty comprises qualified, experienced and highly motivated, enthusiastic teachers from different nationalities who work together as one strong team. Workshops and seminars for PYP and MYP are arranged through the IBO Regional Office. Teachers are sent for International workshops held from time to time in the Asia Pacific Region . We update our staff constantly to meet the challenges of the IB curriculum.

 

6. How effective is the communication between Parents and Teachers?

Regular communication between Parents and Teachers is maintained through the Home Link Book. The Parents are closely involved in the Education programme. They are active participants in all major celebrations in the school. The parent support is our strength. There is also a traditional PTA.

 

7. Does the School have a Canteen?

The school Canteen operates in a large dining room. Healthy, nutritious well-balanced hot meals and snacks are provided at reasonable prices. No junk food or carbonated soft drinks are sold in the canteen.

 

8. Does the school have a safe and secure transport service?

The School has a reliable and safe private air-conditioned bus service covering the routes of Makati, Magallanes, Moonwalk, Better Living, Merville and Multinational Villages in Paranaque The safety and security of the children is our prime concern and we make sure they travel in comfort under proper supervision. The children are picked up from and dropped at their doorstep.

 

 

9. Is the school authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO)

Presently the school is an IB Candidate for the Primary Years Programme and the Middle Years Programme. We aspire to be an IB World School in the near future.
